Denosumab and shingles vaccine

I have recently finished a year on romosozumab and switched to denosumab. I was advised that I should not have the shingles vaccine whilst on romosozumab as it is a live vaccine. Does anyone know if this is still the case with denosumab please? The nurse who gave my first injection didn’t seem to know definitely.

I’m new here but just spotted what you said about the shingles vaccine. I think there is also a non live shingles vaccine. I could be wrong but it might be worth checking this with your doctor. Good luck!

I’m fairly sure everyone over 65 (or 70 if you were already past that age when they reduced the eligibility age) is offered the new Shingrix vaccine. That isn’t a live vaccine. Your GP surgery should be able to confirm, but that’s not good that the nurse who was advising you actually didn’t know for certain!
