I got mine from ScreenMyBones - think it was £225. Depends if you have a location near you, I was ok as there is a place just 20mins away. Booking was just online via their website. If you google ScreenMyBones you should find easily.

Hello all

I am new to this site. I paid £115 to have my Dexa scan at . I am also going to have blood test for bone health which is £175 but I feel being diagnosed with osteoporosis and possible fracture it is worth doing what’s right to find out more about my bone health and what steps to take in order to avoid further progress of osteoporosis.

I have been wondering about REMS scan and if it is worth having one done. Is it more accurate because I have heard differing stories :thinking: It doesn’t seem too expensive, between £250- 300 if that is correct as it not done under NHS. I had dexa 2 years ago.

Hi Denise Yorks. I had dexa scan 2 years ago. Been reading a lot about REMS and am now considering having one done. Had dexa 2 years ago and I think it will be another year before next one. I have read mixed info about REMS but it seems to me it will be worth getting one done. As they don’t come under NHS I understand they can cost between £200-350 us that correct ? Thank you for help.

Hi. I had a REMS scan because they provide bone quality as well as bone strength. Some of the research I have done suggests REMS is a more reliable score. Also, because I’m currently not high risk I have to wait 5 years between my DEXA scans. Mine cost me £225.

I had a DEXA scan in January this year with NHS and was told I’d have another in 3 years’ time. Then I saw a private doctor, who sent me for another 2 weeks ago. I queried the safety aspects of having it so soon after the first and was assured there were no safety concerns. So it seems it is costs that are driving this. P.S. I glow in the dark!
