Advice in obtaining syringe and needles for hydrocortisone injection from gp

Has anybody had problems getting a syringe and the two needles required to administer the hydrocortisone injection that you carry around with you when you’ve got Addison disease

My GP in Lincolnshire has said I can have the medication but I can’t have the syringe or needles and I will need to buy them which I’m currently having problems identifying at a chemist. I’m going to try Boots but would appreciate comments on anybody else’s views on this many thanks.

Hi Florence,

Thank you for your post  We just wanted to drop in with a link to the Pituitary Foundation, as they have information about Addison’s disease and helplines which may be able to offer some support for you at this time.

We also hope some of our members may also be able to share their own experiences of accessing supplies, and that you can keep reaching out here whenever you need.

Wishing you the very best,
