Question, I have four spinal fractures, I had a DEXA scan, but the results won’t be In for a few more weeks, can I be referred to the FLS in the meantime, my GP is saying no, but I’m sure I’ve read on here that the FLS can see you without a DEXA scan. I had an MRI, showing four end plate fractures.
Hi I am sorry to hear you broke some bones.You can see the fracture liaison service with out a scan.That,’s why they exist,to get you onto the right path of drugs,see Physio,’s if necessary and see a Consultant. You should also have been given leaflets produced by the ROS and a link to the website with free helpline even if you are not a member,and details how to join the society.Good luck
Thank you for replying, the GP is refusing to refer me until the DEXA scan is back, I think I’ve sustained another fracture, but the GP thinks it’s muscular, I can’t weight bear as my left hip hurts too much, the GP wants me to see a physio in two weeks for an assessment.
the team who did the DEXA scan will have the results back next week, that’s three weeks from me having it, I’m hoping once they come back I get some answers.
