Bone turnover markers

Hi there, I’m wondering if anyone has any experience with bone turnover markers.

I have contacted The Doctors Laboratory asking for P1N1 and CTX tests.

the correct assays:

  • Serum Beta CTX (CrossLaps) – intended as C-terminal telopeptide (CTX)
  • Procollagen Type 1 N-Terminal Propeptide (P1NP)

The lab has described these as “Beta CTX (CrossLaps DPD)” and “P1NP (NTX),” so I just want to ensure these are the standard CTX and P1NP tests, rather than DPD or NTX.

any one?

That seems quite a medical/technical question. I wonder if this is something better discussed with the ROS nurses on the helpline?

Yes, I did have a chat with them. Then I got some information from the lab and it seems to be lab terminology and the test are the ones I wanted. They will give the whole picture together with the DEXA and Osteoscan as what is the state of my spine, before treatment.
