Hi, I’m new here. I’ve been trying to reach the nurses by email but have not had even an automatic response. Is there some issue with the new helpline email? Can anyone advise? On a separate question, I have absorption issues and am wondering what is the best calcium supplement. This is probably one for the nurses but as said I can’t get through to them. Thanks!
Can’t help with try8ng to reach the nurses - I think there is a phone number s9me where that yu could try.
I never got on well with the calcium tablets I was prescribed - calcium carbonate = rock really. My gut did not like them - I tried both Acrette and Ad-Cal . The fracture Liaison nurse and I figured out that I was getting enough dietary calcium - the ROS have a very helpful Calcium Calculator on their site that you can use to work it out for yourself and I also bought Together Health Calcium capsules which are Atlantic seaweed based and which I have found to be very gentle on my gut. I buy my own vitamin D capsules. Hope that’s of some help.
Thanks - I’ve heard back from the nurses. They may not have got my earlier emails. I find I don’t absorb nutrients well which is why - in spite of apparently having sufficient calcium in my diet according to the very helpful Calcium Calculator on the ROS site - I’m considering a supplement. I’ll check out Together Health Calcium capsules. I use Better You Vitamin D3 and K2 mouth spray which seems to overcome the absorption difficulties. Thanks for your suggestions.
