Living with Osteoporosis

Living with recovering from fractures, finding a chair that is comfortable, a heat pad I found eased the pain, sleeping was painful helped with sleeping on my side & soft cushion tucked into my back. At one time when back too painful used to carry a soft cushion under my arm which relieved the pain a little. Slept on my own as I couldn’t bear movement or touch. I couldn’t do any housework or preparing meals, I didn’t do anything but rest. So pleased I managed to overcome this with practice, exercise & moving around now able to do most things albeit slower.

So never give up keep trying everyday on things you like to do.

Hi Maryann,

Thank you so much for sharing this, and a very warm welcome to the community.
It can be exhausting living with daily pain as you’ve described — so it’s really encouraging to hear how, over time, practice and movement have helped you regain confidence in doing those daily life activities again.

For anyone reading along who’d like to learn more, we also have some information about managing pain when living with osteoporosis, which you may find helpful: Managing pain

Thank you again for posting — I’m sure that your message and kind encouragement will resonate with lots of other people.

Wishing you the very best,
