Medical cannabis for pain

In October 2025, I sustained osteoporotic fractures L1&L3 and T8. In spite of doing exercises recommended on ROS website and having regular physiotherapy, the pain seems to have got worse. Walking in the street for about ten minutes becomes unbearable. Has anyone tried Medical Cannabis for the pain or laser therapy?

Sorry, no one appears to have tried it. You could always speak to one of the ROS nurses and see if they can offer any advice.

Or you could try walking with Nordic poles, I find they make a big difference when I use mine - they sort of take the weight off your lower back, no idea why but I think they probably put you in a better walking position

Hi I tried Medical cannabis as this can be prescribed through a private consultation with a pain specialist,it did not work for me, despite people saying how wonderful it is,it just made me forgetful and spaced out.I think maybe a brace would be good while you are walking outside, but do not wear all the times as this makes the muscles lazy. You could begin lifting weights, start slowly and build up.Poles are good as it makes you stand up better and the poles also stop you loosing your balance and falling.Good luck.Shirley

Thank you Shirley. With medical cannabis sometimes it’s trial and error until they get the dose right. Can you remember what Cllinic you used?

Hi Hope Yes the name of the Clinic is called Curleaf and it is in London I was paying about £150.00 per month but that was 2 years ago. You should be able to find it on Goggle Search. Shirley

Thank you for getting back to me .That’s the clinic I’m thinking of going with. I’ve read that it’s trial and error and sometimes the dose has to be re-adjusted. Did they offer to do this for you? I’m sorry to keep asking you all these questions. For me it’s the last resort as the opiates I’m taking don’t work on me.

Hi, this sounds really painful. It is so frustrating when nothing you try helps. I have not used the cannabis or laser therapy and I am not currently in pain, but when I was I found TENS unit very helpful.
