I was 52 (1997)when I had my first spinal fracture, (lumber 1),I was riding my bike to work when someone knocked me off ,my back fractured before I hit the ground.
My first treatment was HRT which worked well and my bone density improved ,but in 2004 after I moved to Bournemouth I was told at the clinic at Poole Hospital they didn’t want me on it anymore and they put me on a bisphosphonate tablet, that did not work and a dexa scan showed that my bone density had dropped dramatically.
I was then given the twice yearly injection of Prolia that worked quite well , but I was then told that I could not stay on the drug for more than 10 years.
for the last 3 years I have been given an infusion of Zolendronic Acid (Aclasta) ,I have not had a Dexa scan so don’t know if it helping or not.
For nearly 2 years now I have a problem with my eyelids, they close and I then cannot open them again ,sometimes for more than 20 minutes , this happens 20 or 30 times a day .
I had all the tests available at the eye hospital and they don’t know what is causing this ,they are giving me Botox injections around the eyes because it helps people with Blepharospasm ,but this is not helping .
I was wondering if there is anyone out there who has similar symptoms with their eyes who are being treated with Zoledronic acid Aclasta.j
