Hi again, I posted recently regarding which cool bag to get to travel and keep medication between 2° and 8° over a long period. I have now purchased a Coolmeds Classic (hope that’s ok to mention but feel we have rather been left in the lurch over this topic). I have tested it and it did last just over 16hrs before the temperature rose above 8°. During the first few hours it did fall below 2° and I opened the bag for less than a minute for the temperature to rise again. After that it settled at 2°. Still have the issue of conditioning the cold packs but that took about 40mins before putting in the cool bag and then it took about 20 mins to get below 8°. Instructions are clear and easy to follow. Once fastened up it is a bit bulky too. Having said all that, I am very pleased with mine and I know it will last fir my long journies down south!

Do you mean the Coolmeds classic case on the South American River website? May I ask what guided your choice? I usually go with average customer review and cross ref it with best seller, but I suppose you also have to look at how long you’ll go away and the volume and how you travel, by car, train or plane…
I should get my first delivery of meds on Tuesday, as I have no idea what they look like and how I’m going to have to store them in the fridge (square click and lock plastic box I suppose?).

No, I bought mine from Medicare. I read lots of reviews and comments from people on this site. Its the best for me as I travel by train and needed to factor in delays!! Your medication comes in a small box before you insert it into the pen. I keep the pen on the plastic from its original box to prevent it rolling around in the fridge (Nurse’s tip). They have been fine. I only get a month’s supply at a time at the moment, so not much room needed. You will get a sharps box, a box of antiseptic wipes and a box of needles plus a book to record your injections. A Nurse will come to your home to show you what to do. Hood luck!
