Good evening . I’ve very recently been diagnosed with lumbar osteoporosis T score 2.8. My GP recommended Alendronic acid but is checking with Moorfields eye hospital to see whether it contraindicates with my glaucoma. My main concern is that I’ve also been prescribed theiCal-D3 which I am taking . Using your food calcium checker I realise that I get a lot of calcium in my diet ( @ 950 mg ) . I’m worried that I am now taking in too much calcium daily causing potential future problems..

Hi, I was diagnosed with osteoporosis this week and also have concerns about alendronic acid. I was also extremely upset as I’ve been working so hard to preserve bone density through diet and exercise. I chatted to one of the nurses through the helpline and she was so fantastic - spent a lot of time with me, far more than a GO would - and has made me feel much better. I’d so recommend calling. Good luck
