Change of medication

Hi I have been Prolia ( Denosumab) for 2 years now due to my osteoporosis. Recently I have pain in my thighs with burning sensation. Not severe but it is there, on and off. I have had x rays a couple of days ago and awaiting results. Has anyone out there had an experience of this? I have stopped going for walks and doing my muscle strengths and bone impact exercises. I wander if I should continue my walks and exercises.

I took Denosumab for 3.5 years. Didn’t suffer any side effects but was happy to stop it (my request) due to the rebound fracture risk. Hopefully you are being well looked after and monitored….although you may still have to chase up results and further tests if required. Personally I’d continue your walks if not too painful as movement is so good for mental health as well as physical. I’d be careful with impact and lifting weights until you know what’s going on or the symptoms disappear. The ROS nurses could probably advise you further if you give them a call.

Thank you for your reply. Yes, I will chase up on my results and will call the ROS nurse in the next couple of days for some advise.

Kind regards

Yes I’d say 100% keep walking I do. not walking means youl will seize up. I’m 9n Denosumab and been on it for 3 years. My specialist is wonderful I call him a walking encyclopaedia of knowledge he says Denusomab is the best and its unlikely to be causing such problems

Thank you. it is good to know.

Take care
