Sunlight via windows

Hi

I have been diagnosed with osteoporosis a few years back.

I sit near a window to ensure I get my sun in the spring/summer months. However, sometimes it does get cold. Am I correct that sun rays do not penetrate the glass in the window so the window but be open while sitting near it to get vitamin D. Can anyone throw some light on this?

The UVB rays do not penetrate through a window, which is what you need. I did do a check on the internet and several credible sources state the same.

Sitting by a window with the sun shining in does not help with vit D - you do need to go outside and sit there to get the benefit.

thank you. This has been noted.
